What does our $16.67 a month pay for?

The $200-a-year payment represents a minimal investment in the maintenance and continuation of the South Shores Homeowners Association. The interim Board of Directors is committed to bringing you value for that investment.

Here is what your HOA fees help pay for above and beyond the work of your volunteer board:

  • Mowing of common areas, rights of way and the stormwater retention area
  • Timely snow removal in advance of being reimbursed 75 percent by DelDOT; 4 inches of snow measured in Ellendale is required for this partial reimbursement
  • Accountant fees and tax filings
  • Homeowner mailings
  • Legal fees, if necessary to protect our neighborhood interests
  • Electricity for and maintenance of our streetlights
  • Insurance
  • Planting/mulching
  • Payment of corporate taxes
  • Post Office box fee
  • Signage
  • Other amenities as agreed to by the Board and residents

We encourage you to get caught up for the benefit of the entire community.

It is not our intent to shame anyone. If you are in arrears, you will be assessed an additional $25 late fee each year. You will not be able to vote on HOA association matters or serve in any capacity. A lien can be placed on your property so the HOA can recoup the past due fees during the sale of your property.
